Ahmaya Graves-Young is a student at Mount Holyoke College majoring in Critical Race and Political Economy. Her work is shaped by a deep care for community, a desire to support those most impacted by structural inequities, and a growing interest in grassroots organizing, cultural preservation, and institutional change.
Ahmaya currently supports First-Gen and Low-Income students as a Fearless First Fellow and serves as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer in Student Government. Through roles with FAMILIA for Queer and Trans People of Color, the Association of Pan-African Unity, and the Student of Color Committee, she helps build spaces where marginalized students can feel seen, supported, and connected.
Her recent work with Nueva Esperanza and the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum has deepened her interest in community-based learning and using art, history, and storytelling as tools for justice. Across all of her roles, Ahmaya is committed to listening, learning, and working collaboratively to support efforts that center care, equity, and solidarity.
