Client Background

Elm City Internationals (ECI) is a non-profit organization that leverages the power of soccer to create a supportive learning community for low-income students in New Haven. ECI focuses on providing academic assistance to student-athletes who excel on the soccer field but require additional support in their studies, and their ultimate goal is to ensure that all ECI students attend and graduate from college.

Objectives

In effort to engage business partners aligned with their mission, ECI sought AEG's expertise to enhance their communications strategy and develop compelling and engaging outreach for sponsorships to produce, support, and sustain opportunities for low-income student-athletes.

Challenges

Prior to working with AEG, ECI encountered challenges in effectively and successfully communicating their mission, work, and achievements to the public. The organization needed help with increasing their visibility to secure vital support from corporate sponsors and to sustain their long-term commitment to student-athletes.

  • To improve ECI’s communications, AEG designed a development and donor outreach plan that effectively conveyed ECI's mission, successes, and impact. With this, AEG spearheaded a new sponsorship document for student-athlete empowerment and worked closely with ECI to create a compelling and informative piece that captured the essence of the organization's work and its significance in the New Haven community. This document underscored the different ways businesses could contribute to ECI's mission, emphasizing the social impact and benefits of supporting the development of young scholars.

AEG's support for ECI yielded significant results.
